The Helsinki University Researchers’ and Teachers’ Association, HUART
The Helsinki University Researchers’ and Teachers’ Association, HUART, is an interest organisation for researchers, teachers, postgraduate students and other academic and administrative professionals working at the University of Helsinki.
HUART is there when salaries are negotiated at the University and when you need information and support relating to pay and working conditions.
HUART and FUURT organize a traditional Agora discussion session (held in Finnish) on 16th of November 2018 at Porthania building hall PII. Yliopistonkatu 3, 1. krs.) from 3 to 5 pm.
The guest speakers of the event are the chairperson of the Board of the University of Helsinki President Tarja Halonen and Vice-Rector Tom Böhling.
In addition, a report by FUURT’s Early Stage Researcher’s Work Group on the situation of early stage researches in Finland will be discussed at the event. A panel discussion will be held to discuss the findings of the report. The panelists are in addition to Vice-Rector Tom Böhling, Erja Heikkinen (Science Adviser, Ministry of Education and Culture), Jouni Kivistö-Rahnasto (Chair, The Finnish Union of University Professors), Riikka Heikinheimo (Executive Director on Competence and Education, Confederation of Finnish Industries).

The statutory autumn meeting of HUART will be held on Wednesday 28th November 2018 at 5 pm. at Ravintola Kaisaniemi.
The autumn meeting is a great place to get acquainted with research associates from all fields. Also the meeting is an opportunity to become HUART board member or a HUART vice representative for Union meetings of the Finnish Union of University Researchers and Teachers (FUURT).
The discussion in the meeting will be mainly in Finnish but with occasional translation in English if needed.
After the meeting the participants have an opportunity to enjoy a three course evening buffet of seasonal delicacies.
